Vicki Green Stropko is an Assistant Divisional Vice President for the Asbestos and Environmental Claim Unit in Corporate Claims at Great American Insurance Company. She currently manages Great American’s legacy environmental claims as well as environmental claims referred by other divisions. These claims include everything from mega Superfund sites for sediments and uplands along bays and rivers to underground storage tanks, dry cleaners, landfills and industrial sites. The unit handles litigated and non-litigated claims nationwide as well as any associated coverage matters. Vicki has also become the point person for PFAS within Corporate Claims for Great American and follows technical updates as well as ongoing litigation and coverage issues.
Vicki graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Environmental Science and Policy and went on to earn a Master of Science in Environmental Science at the University of Cincinnati. She worked on site investigation and remediation projects and hydrogeological studies for SCS Engineers before joining Great American in 2002 to handle claims under pollution liability policies. Vicki later transitioned to handling legacy asbestos and environmental claims before being promoted to manage the environmental side of the unit in 2015.
