Kathleen, an Assistant Vice President, Claims and Counsel, is the Claim Lead for Sompo International US Insurance Environmental Liability claims. She manages claims under policies including site pollution, contractor’s pollution and professional liability coverages for the Construction sector. She has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. She began her insurance career in private practice litigating environmental coverage matters on behalf of major insurance carriers nationwide at a boutique insurance coverage law firm and then transitioned to insurance claims, working as Environmental Claims Counsel and Senior Trial Attorney at several major insurance carriers. Kathleen worked at Markel Service, Incorporated for almost two decades as manager of the Environmental and Energy claims team, overseeing complex first and third-party claims under environmental package policies. Throughout her career, she has provided extensive underwriting support and training. Kathleen holds a BA in English Literature from Fairfield University and a JD from Seton Hall Law School. She is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a frequent speaker at insurance industry events and currently serves as Vice President of EECMA.
